THE US CONSTITUTION

The 6 principles are:

Popular Sovereignty- All of the power lies in the hands of people of the United States who are sovereign.

Limited Government- Limited Government means that the government may only do things that the people that they have government give them the power to do.

Separation of Powers- In a parliamentary system the legislative, executive, and judicial powers of government are all gathered in the hands of a single agency.

Checks and Balances- The government is organized around three separate branches. Though the constitution says that these three powers must be separated they are still connected and are not completely independent of each other.

Judicial Review- The power of judicial review is the power of courts to determine whether what government does is in accord with what the constitution provides.

Federalism-  The principle of federalism is the division of power among a central government and several regional government.

Imagine

Imaxina - John Lennon

Imaxina que non exista o ceo,
é fácil se o intentas.
Sen o Inferno debaixo nosa,
arriba de nós, só o ceo.
Imaxina a toda a xente,
vivindo para hoxe…
Imaxina que non hay países,
non é difícil de facer.
Ninguén por quen matar ou morrer,
nin tampouco relixión.
Imaxina a toda a xente vivindo a vida en paz…

Podes dicir que son un soñador,
pero non son o único,
espero que algún día te unas a nós,
e o mundo vivirá como un.
Imaxina que non hai posesións,
gustaríame saber si podes,
sen necesidade de gula ou fama,
unha irmandade de homes.
Imaxínate a toda a xente compartindo o mundo.

Podes dicir que son un soñador,
pero non son o único,
espero que algún día te unas a nós,
e o mundo vivirá coma un so.

The railway rapidly increased the population of Manchester. By 1851 over 455,000 people were living in the city. Housing conditions were appalling. It was reported that in some parts of the city the number of toilets averaged only two to two hundred and fifty people. Only forty per cent of the children living in this area reached their fifth year. Manchester is famous for its libraries. Manchester had new types of industry: electrical, chemical, steel...

3- Visit this web-site and find out more about children life in Victorian times, during the industrial revolution:

The Victorian age in British history is named after Queen Victoria, who was Britain's queen from 1837 until 1901. Only richer families could afford to pay the school fees, though some schools gave free places to poor boys. Girls did not go to school when the Victorian age began. Some were taught at home, but most girls got little education. Some children pushed trucks of coal along mine tunnels. They were called 'putters'. In Victorian times, many families had 10 or more children. Sadly, many children died as babies, or from diseases such as smallpox anddiphtheriaMany Victorian children were poor and worked to help their families. Although many children worked in Victorian times, they still had time to play.

4- Watch this video of modern times film, what do you think that Charles Chaplin want to say?
